Founder | Jemima Lovatt
Jemima founded the University of London Legal Forum, in 2015, with the vision of creating a society for students from all academic backgrounds with a common interest in legal affairs. She started the society while studying History at UCL and led the organisation of the first Legal Forums:

In addition to being its founder, she continues to stay involved with the society as a Strategic Advisor, frequently advising the Committee and introducing them to speakers in her professional network. She is currently a Lord Denning BPTC Scholar at Lincoln’s Inn, Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society and Chair of the One Young World End Domestic Abuse Group.
President ’16 – ’17 | Nicholas Leah
Nicholas acted as President of The London Legal Forum during the final year of his History degree at UCL. Previously, he served as Vice-President and Chaired the society’s first Brexit Forum.
Under his leadership, the society co-ordinated partnerships and hosted events with Clifford Chance, Berwin Leighton Paisner, Teach First, Bright Network, and City Career Series. In addition, he introduced new events to the Forum’s repertoire, including “Welcome social month”, “The London Legal Walking Tour”, and the inaugural Christmas Ball, held at The East India Club.
He continues to be an active part of the society’s community, regularly attending events and offering strategic advice to the current committee. He is currently studying for his Master’s at the University of Oxford and holds a Training Contract at White & Case LLP.
President ’17-’18 / Ali Fazeli
Ali headed the Society in from 2017 to 2018 during the final year of his degree in Philosophy, Logic & Scientific Method.
During his time, he formed partnerships with Norton Rose Fulbright, Herbert Smith Freehills and SEO allowing the society to grow further, hosting events such as the Winter Diversity Ball, the Mooting competition and various Application Skills sessions. A highlight of the year was the event hosted at the Houses of Parliament with Shadow Brexit Secretary Keir Starmer and four other leading figures in the Brexit debate.
He is currently reading the GDL and holds a Training Contract at Norton Rose Fulbright. Ali remains an active part of our community acting as one of the committee’s Strategic Advisors.
